Dr. Gallagher earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from West Virginia University and his Bachelor of Science degrees from Southern College of Optometry. He completed his doctorate degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Additional training was performed in the management of glaucoma, retinal disorders, and pre and post operative management of cataract patients. Committed to help those patients in need of glasses and eye exams, Dr. Gallagher donated his time to travel to Costa Rica on several occasions. He likes to believe that of the couple of thousand of patients that past through their make-shift exam lanes someone is better off today than they would have been without his help.
Prior to returning back to Georgia, Dr. Gallagher practiced full scope optometry in a large group practice in Delaware for nine years. He takes a special interest in those patients with retinal disorders and the correlation with overall medical health. Dr. Gallagher believes each patient requires independent attention for his or her unique eye care needs. He performs comprehensive primary care ocular examinations, fits contact lenses and is certified to fit the new CRT lenses for corneal reshaping. He comanages post operative patients and evaluates patients for diabetic eye disease and glaucoma.
Dr. Gallagher is an active member of the Suwanee Kiwanis club where he has served as president and board member. He enjoys working with an organization that not only directly supports children organizations but also raises funds through various civic functions to enhance the lives of many children. He also enjoys volunteering his time at George Pierce park as a coach.
